Department Overview 

The Department of Electrical and electronics Engineering was started in the year 2002 and offers B.Tech. program in EEE an annual intake of 120 and M.Tech program in Electrical power system and Control systems,Power Electronics Engineering an annual intake of 18. The department has excellent infrastructure with smart class rooms, creates digital online teaching and learning platform using Microsoft Teams, optimizing lectures through NPTEL online courses, well established laboratories, department library, seminar halls and lecture halls.
The department has well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories for Electrical machines, Control Systems , Power Electronics ,ECAD ,Basic Electrical Simulation , Power Syatems, Electrical Circuits& Networks, Electrical Measuremets & Instrumention,Electrical Workshop, Basic Electrical Engineering .  Advanced research laboratories include Power converter design of Excellence,.  Software available includes latest versions of MATLAB P-SPICE with several tool boxes.  The combined commercial value of all this software exceeds a thousand dollars. 
The department houses the faculty members from well reputed institutions all over the nation, from the specialization Electrical power system and Control systems,Power Electronics Engineering and Nuclear Engineering . The department puts all efforts to create incomparable Assistant engineers using advanced solar system practices and learning aids for undergraduate students and state of the art research facilities for post graduate students.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering has gained rapid importance in view of ever increasing demand for power. Apart from thermal, hydro, nuclear power generation, substantial growth in compact units of gas-turbine,generators, combined cycled plants by multinational companies are coming up.
The department constantly strives to be a center of Academic Excellence with focus on advanced technology and research by delivering the best quality technical education to the students in meeting the current and future challenges with emphasis on moral and ethical foundations.

Programme Educational Objectives 

  • To provide the students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to solve electronics and communication engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.

  • To provide fundamentals of electronic and communication engineering design in the areas of analog electronics, digital RF and microwave technologies through the   process of formulating a design solution to a perceived need and executing the design and evaluating its performance.  
  •      
  • To provide the students experience in conducting and planning experiments in the modern engineering laboratory including interfacing experiments with computers as  well as interpreting the significance of resulting data and properly reporting results in technical reports.
  • To provide in-depth analysis in the areas of electronics and communication engineering up to date with latest trends in relevant fields to provide scope to create novel products and formulate solution for live problems in the industry. 
  • Familiarizing the students with professional issues in electronics and communication engineering including: Ethics, issues related to the global economy, environment and to emerging technologies, fostering of important job related skills such as improved oral and written communications and experience in working with teams at a  number of levels. 
  • To provide student with an academic environment aware of excellence, leadership, written ethical codes and guidelines and the life long learning needed for a  successful professional career. 
  • Programme Outcomes

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:
  • 1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • 2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • 3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • 5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

    Mr. D.DILEEP KUMAR

    Mr. D.DILEEP KUMAR , completed in B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Chirala Engineerring college, Chirala. He did is M.Tech in NUCLEAR ENGINEERING and from JNTUK, Kakinada. And He is doing 1 year in house projects “IGCAR”(Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research ) from kalpakkam, Chennai.
    He has 10 years of teaching experience.He has published more than 2 research papers in international journals and international/ national conferences. He has conducted various workshops/ seminars/ conferences/ FDPs.

    During his teaching career, he taught various subjects like Electrical Machines, Power Systems and Control Systems, etc. His research interests include Power Quality, Wavelet Transforms, and Neural & Fuzzy expert Systems. He guided several in-house projects for both UG and PG students and published papers in journals of repute and conferences. He has undertaken two Research funded projects titled "WEIR FLIM THICKNESS PROFILE DISPLAY TOOL DEVELOPMENT” .The simulation modeling of MI level probe will be helpful in design of level probes in future and can be used as a tool for analyzing the effect of various parameters on the performance of level probe.

    Infrastructure & Laboratories

    NETWORKS CIRCUITS

    This Lab is related to Electric Circuits and simulation of electrical circuits using computer software. Most of the concepts what they have gone through in theory, will be implemented practically here. In order to analyze the circuits better, faculty are training the students to work for various case studies.

    Electrical Machines-I

    This Lab is related to Electrical Machines. In this lab students will perform various experiments on various types of motors and generators and analyze the performance and characteristics. This helps the students to develop in depth knowledge on the behavior of electrical machines.

    Electrical Machines-II

    This Lab is related to Electrical Machines. In this lab students will perform various experiments on various types of motors and generators and analyze the performance and characteristics. This helps the students to develop in depth knowledge on the behavior of electrical machines.

    Control Systems

    This laboratory provides students with a test bed to learn and practice fundamental concepts of control systems. Second year 2nd semester students attend this lab which presents facilities for the deep understanding of the concepts which they learn in the theory in the previous semester. Students do both hardware and simulation experiments in this lab.

    Power Electronics & Simulation

    This lab provides better understanding of the concepts which the students learnt in the previous semester. Implementation of power electronics circuits both in hardware and software is done in this lab.

    Electrical Measurements & Instrumentation

    Now a day Electrical Energy plays an important role in our day to day life. In a power system the load changes are very imminent, so according to load the quantity of power supply should change from time to time. The significance of the Electrical Measurements Lab is renowned in the various fields of engineering applications. For an Electrical Engineer, it is obligatory to have the practical ideas about the Electrical Measurements. Electrical measurements deal with the measurement of stability and working standards of the meter, this includes the knowledge of utilization and control of electrical energy.

    Basic Electrical Simulation

    This lab is focused on improving students’ skills in modeling and simulation of various types of signals, performing different mathematical operations on signals. This lab also helps in modeling electrical systems and verifies their performance in a simulation environment.

    Power Systems lab

    This lab provides better understanding of the concepts which the students learnt in the previous semester. Implementation of power electronics circuits both in hardware and software is done in this lab.

    Electrical Systems Simulation lab

    This lab is focused on improving students’ skills in modeling and simulation of Electrical and Electronic Circuits, Power System Analysis and Power Electronics. This lab helps in modeling electrical systems and verifies their performance in a simulation environment.

    Electrical Workshop

    This lab mainly enhances practical knowledge related to Electrical Equipments and Circuits. This lab also helps an exposure to market survey for available components.

    Basic Electrical Engineering Lab

    This Lab is related to Basic Electrical Engineering. In this lab students will perform various experiments on electrical Circuits and analyze the performance characteristics of AC and DC machines. This helps the students to develop in depth knowledge on the behaviour of electrical circuits and machines.
