Electronics and Communication Engineering

Department Overview 

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the departments that started at the time of inception of St’Marys group of institutions Hyderabad in 2001 with an intake of 60 B.Tech. students.  Expanding its horizons over the years, the department presently offers the B.Tech. program with an intake of 180, two M.Tech. Programs with specializations in VLSI, Embedded Systems and ECE. The department is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. 
The department has well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories for Electronic Devices & Circuits, Pulse & Digital Circuits, IC&ECAD, Basic Simulation, Analog & Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave & Optical Communications, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers.  Advanced research laboratories include VLSI Center of Excellence, Embedded Systems and Advanced Wireless and Communication laboratories.  Software available includes latest versions of MATLAB with several tool boxes, CADENCE complete suit, Xilinx and Co-design tools to name a few.  The combined commercial value of all this software exceeds a thousand dollars.  
The strengths of the department are the specialized laboratories, senior professors, dynamic & young associate and assistant professors, industrious academic assistants, staff and meritorious students. 
Some of the achievements of our students include securing admissions to NITs and reputed foreign universities for higher studies and placements in reputed companies (including Infosys, TCS, CTS, Mahindra).

Mission

  • Programme Outcomes

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:
  • 1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • 2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • 3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • 4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • 5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • 6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

    Mr.Gopisetti.NagaRaju

    Mr.Gopisetti.NagaRaju, completed his B.Tech in Electronics &Instrumentation Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad. He did his M.Tech in VLSI systems Design from JNTU, Hyderabad. He has 14 years of teaching experience in various reputed engineering colleges in Telangana. He has published research papers in international journals and presented research papers in international/national conferences/seminars/symposiums. He qualified UGC-NET conducted in DEC-2014, He conducted various workshops/seminars/conferences/FDPS.

    Infrastructure & Laboratories

    Electronics devices and circuits lab:

    This lab is used by secondyear first semester students.
    Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and related kits

    Basic simulation lab

    This lab is used by second year first semester students. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and Mat lab or Equivalent software.

    Electronic circuits Analysis lab:

    This lab is used by second year second semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and kits. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and Multisim software

    Electrical Technology Lab:

    This lab is used by second year second semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and kits.

    Analog communication lab:

    This lab is used by third year first semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and kits. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and Mat lab or Equivalent software.

    IC Applications and HDL lab:

    This lab is used by third year first semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and kits. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and Xilinx software.

    Micro processor and Micro controllers lab:

    This lab is used by third year second semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as 8051 and 8086 kits Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and TASM software

    Digital signal processing lab:

    This lab is used by third year second semester students. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and mat lab or Equivalent software. Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, and TMS320C7613 kits.

    Advanced English Communication Skills lab

    This lab is used by third year second semester students. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and WALDEN software.

    E CAD &VLSI lab:

    This lab is used by fourth year first semester students. Conducting experiments on PC’s are installed with windows xp and Xilinx software And FPGA Kits.

    Microwave engg lab

    This lab is used by fourth year first semester students. Conducting experiments using equipments such as Cathode ray oscilloscope, Function Generators, Regulated power supplies, bread boards and kits.
